Due to circumstances and legalities beyond our control, we are obligated to change our name. Mario Diaz & the Natty Roots All-Stars was a name given to the band because of the "revolving door" of musicians Mario had in the band. You could go to 3 shows in a week and find 3 different sets of musicians. With the addition of George, Brian, and Kent to a steady line up, we have grown as a band and even though we are still adding and changing couple of pieces within the mix, this is now and will forever be a band movement, and not just an "all-star" cast of "sit ins". The name has been decided and from now on we are... Mario Diaz & the Steady Vibes ... the name speaks to our attitude... our belief in great music and chill atmosphere... our brand of reggae roots music... and the way we approach the scene... Spreading positive vibes and introducing crowd to the church of chill!! Thanks for your support and may Jah bless you and yours!
Electric guitars are being added to the tracks... I can see the finish line!
We are totally stoked to be sharing the legendary Smith's Olde Bar with Treehouse, Beaureggard & the Down Right, Burning Trees, Five40, AndLove, and The Majestic Dub Kru. This will be a great day for the Atlanta Reggae music scene!
So yeah... pretty self explanatory. Bass lines have been recorded and we are getting a better feel for what we still need to tweak for the album to have the vibe (there's that word again) we want. It has been an incredible experience so far. I have definitely learned about myself as an artist and as a person. All the growing up stuff aside, I am getting so stoked about the album is not even funny! So many things are going to happen after the release... I really can't wait! I have set goals for what I want to accomplish and this is step numero uno.
I want to take time to thank you for your support and your blessings. We are trying to defy many unwritten "music biz" rules with what we are doing and your constant presence is incredibly appreciated. So thank you!!
So, last night as George and I were editing tracks (and by George and I, I really mean he was doing it and I was watching) we decided to put some cellos on "Lime Tree". It turned out killer!! It gives a very authentic "paddy" sound to the track and makes this beautiful song even prettier. We are going to finish up editing by the end of the week and start with Lead guitars, vocals, and pianos next week. I am stoked... really can't wait!!
Editing drums and guitars. Everything is sounding great. The guys are stoked about the new album. Keep coming back for tons of updates!!
